Are you curious when the next full moon is coming around? The calendar has also been updated to display upcoming moon phases based on the previously mentioned phase length settings. This information will also display the current phase. Yes, the moon phase will affect your Sim! Each phase grants a special gameplay boost that can be viewed by hovering over the moon icon at the bottom center of the screen.
If you want, you can also make a phase permanent or turn off moon effects.
With default settings, the moon will change each night, but you can change the length of the phases in the Environment section of Game Options. In total, there are eight phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent. This excludes locations that might not make sense, like the Magic Realm. Were your Sims set in their nocturnal ways? The moon now has phases within a Lunar Cycle! From now on, you’ll notice that the moon in the sky changes over time, which affects how much light is given off at night in almost every neighborhood across all packs. We’re very excited to share with you our newest patch notes (but I’m particularly excited because this is my first time getting to write them and now I’m as free and wild as a Werewolf during a full moon)! To ensure your game is up to date, check the game version found in Documents > EA > The Sims 4 > GameVersion.txt.

If you have auto-updates disabled, you will need to manually update by clicking the game in your library. If you have auto updates enabled in Origin’s “Application Settings”, the game will auto-update once you open Origin. Another interesting fact about this update is that it came absolutely free of charge, which is quite surprising given its publisher’s aggressive monetization practices, which were targeted by US politicians at one point.There’s a new Sims 4 update available for PC/Mac and Consoles.

In fact, all actions mentioned above are heavily influenced by the Sims’ traits. But perhaps the most disturbing novelty is that they can die in different kinds of accidents, depending on various risk factors, like Career, Age, Traits, etc. They can also join and leave careers, retire when elderly, and move entire households into and out of lots. Sims with “Hates Children” traits might opt to adopt a dog or cat instead. Well, the new update to Neighborhood Stories expanded the pool of neighboring Sims that have increased autonomy, granting them the ability to make certain choices, extending them past social interactions with the players’ Sims.Īs part of this new update, neighbor Sims can now choose to adopt a young Sim or become pregnant with their Significant Other and eventually deliver. These were previously only tied to time within The Sims 4 game, meaning they could age and pass away they couldn’t make any decisions or meaningful changes to their life choices or households. According to Polygon, Maxis gave neighboring Sims more autonomy with the release of Neighborhood Stories.
